Tackle Unreasonable Teenage Expectations during Lockdown with Mentalhood

The rules of parenting have certainly changed. Parents, especially mothers, are no longer the happily multi-tasking kind with perfect hair and priorities. It is tough to be a mother, especially in a mom-eat-mom world where mothers are constantly battling it out to be the best mom. In the current lockdown scenario, you too must be spending a lot of time with your kids and finding new ways to deal with their different moods. You’re not alone.

To get a better sense of how other modern mothers are manoeuvring their way through unreasonable expectations and eccentricities to raise their children, gather around with your family and watch Mentalhood web series online, only on Vodafone Play.

Mentalhood is a ZEE5 Original drama series starring Karishma Kapoor, Sanjay Suri, Dino Morea, Sandhya Mridul, Shilpa Shukla, Tillotama Shome and Shruti Seth. Armed with their own unique shade of motherhood, these 5 supermoms leave no stone unturned as they fight their way through this Mentalhood, dealing with not only the society, their children and their family, but also competing with other moms!

Mentalhood channels the transformation of modern motherhood, while embracing the everyday struggles, dilemmas and imperfections of moms in the age of Internet. The show revolves around Karisma Kapoor’s character Meira Sharma, who has recently shifted to Mumbai from Kanpur, with husband Anmol Sharma (Sanjay Suri) and three children. The plot unfolds when the kids get a mid-session admission in a high-end school, and that’s where the journey of Mentalhood begins.

Meira slowly starts adjusting to her life in Mumbai and starts a blog under the pen name Mentalmom, wherein she writes about the ups and downs of parenting and how it should be done. The show features the parenting journey of 5 mothers and Dino Morea, whose character Aakash is a single parent of two children, facing the challenges of being a single father in India. The premise of Mentalhood deals with the intertwining lives of 5 mothers whose children go to the same school.

Each Mentalhood episode talks about a societal taboo and how the mothers rise above it. It tells stories of their shared journeys as parents, the need to be better than each other and also their sisterhood. Mentalhood is a progressive drama series with an undertone of good comic timing. It is perfectly suited for family viewing, especially now when you can watch it together with your entire family during the lockdown.
